Hello everyone!

Are you interested in exploring the physical, social, environmental, economic, spiritual, and cultural relationship between the land and all beings on Turtle Island? If so, come celebrate the book launch of This Place Is Who We Are: Stories of Indigenous Leadership, Resilience, and Connection to Homeland with Katherine Palmer Gordon, Dallas Smith, and other book participants at the Bill Reid Gallery on July 15th at 6:30pm! This free celebration highlights the ongoing work of Indigenous Peoples in reconnecting with the land, water, and other helper beings.

The book is a series of stories compiled by Katherine Palmer Gordon, winner of the BC Haig-Brown prize and a prominent freelance journalist, and it features a foreword from Dallas Smith, the founder and president of Na̲nwak̲olas Council and member of the Tlowitsis Nation. The collection includes stories about land rediscovery camps to better acquaint Indigenous youth with their lands, building healing centres and ecolodges, and many more experiences of reconnection, strength, and growth!

If you are interested, you can register for free here!
