How much does the program cost?

This program is completely free.​​​​​​

What grades and subjects?

K-12 Math, Science, and English (Language Arts). 

Some tutors can also teach non-core subjects.​​

Am I eligible to get tutoring?

If you self-identify as Indigenous, yes!

How do I enroll?

Does  the program provide teaching or homeschooling services?

No, we do not offer teaching or homeschooling services. Tutors provide one-on-one support to help students understand topics covered in class, not replace classroom teachers.

​​​When does the program run?

The program runs throughout the school year. You can start and stop at any time. ​​​

How often is tutoring?

To start off, we recommend 45 mins twice a week. However, the duration and frequency is ultimately up to the student.

What platform do you use?

Our main platform is Zoom, but others can be used.

Is there in-person tutoring?

At this point in time, we don't have the capacity to offer this. 

Who are the tutors?

University students and alumni.

Are the tutors trained?

Yes. They are trained in tutoring, mentoring, and Indigenous cultural safety

 

How are students paired with tutors, and how long does it take?

Students are paired in the order we receive their signed permission forms. The process usually takes at least 3 weeks but may be longer during busy times.

Where are the images (on the website) that do not have citations from?

All images with no credits are sourced from WiX's stock image sites or Unsplash.
