As we move into the fall, we wanted to promote several scholarships, awards, and bursaries with upcoming application deadlines. You may have heard of some of these in previous blog posts, but we thought it would be nice to share them again and add in some new options to the list!

Here are some opportunities to consider:

BC First Nations Public Service Scholarship

The BC First Nations Public Service Scholarship is open to Indigenous applicants working in a non-elected role in any BC First Nation government or First Nation organization that supports governance and/or professional capacity development.

Deadline: October 15, 2026, at 4:30 pm.

Animikii Technology and Entrepreneurship Awards for Indigenous Youth

The Animikii Technology and Entrepreneurship Awards for Indigenous Youth offer two $1,000 scholarships to Indigenous youth ages 17 to 30. The application period opens on September 15, 2026.

Deadline: October 15, 2026.

Modern Métis Woman Scholarships

The Modern Métis Woman Scholarships are available to Métis women who are Canadian citizens and enrolled in a Canadian or U.S. university.

Deadline: October 31, 2026.

TD Indigenous Student Scholarships, Grants, and Bursaries

TD offers several scholarship, grant, and bursary opportunities for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students. These opportunities are open to students who are members or citizens of a First Nation, Métis, or Inuit community and are enrolled in a minimum two-year post-secondary program.

Indspire Scholarships, Bursaries, and Awards

Indspire offers a variety of scholarships and bursaries for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students. Applications are accepted continuously from May 1 through February 1, with consideration dates on August 1, November 1, and February 1. One of the benefits of applying through Indspire is that students only need to complete one application to be considered for all eligible scholarships and bursaries, with a few exceptions.

AltaLink Indigenous Student Awards

The AltaLink Indigenous Student Awards are available to First Nations and Métis students pursuing programs related to the electricity transmission sector.

Deadline: November 1, 2026.

Bill and Elsie More First Nations Bursary

The Bill and Elsie More First Nations Bursary is available to First Nations students enrolled in a post-secondary course of studies. The award is for amounts of up to $1,000.

Deadline: end of October 2026.

ATCO Indigenous Education Awards

ATCO offers several Indigenous Education Awards for students at different stages of their educational journeys. Merit Awards of $750 are available for students completing Grades 10, 11, or 12. Bridging Awards of $1,000 are available for students registered in an upgrading program, Adult Basic Education, or a university preparation program. Scholarships of $1,800 are available for students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs.

Deadline: October 2, 2026.

We hope this list helps you discover some new funding opportunities and encourages you to apply! As always, make sure to carefully review the eligibility requirements for each opportunity and give yourself plenty of time to complete your applications before the deadlines.

If you only have time to apply for a select few opportunities, we especially recommend looking into Indspire and ATCO. Both organizations offer multiple funding opportunities, and submitting a single application makes you eligible for all their scholarships, awards, and bursaries.

Good luck with your applications!
