Youth Empowered Speakers Program

Description

The YES program provides training and paid work internships to pursue your career in addition to Mentor-Apprentice language immersion learning. The program also includes a paid internship at a B.C. First Nations organization.

Eligibility Criteria:

B.C. First Nations individuals ages 18 - 35. Must live in BC and intend to learn one of 36 First Nations languages in B.C.

Indigenous Arts Support

Description

Indigenous Arts Projects supports the research, development and creation of new work with the goal of strengthening arts and culture while benefiting Indigenous artists and their communities.

Eligibility Criteria:

Indigenous artists, curators, arts professionals and organizations in Ontario

Creating, Knowing and Sharing: The Arts and Cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples: Small Scale Activities

Before the start date of your project or activity.

Amount

up to $5,000

Description

Funds activities that advance an artistic career or practice, such as acquiring materials, professional development activities, or expertise, advice or training from a professional artist or cultural carrier. First-time applicants should speak to a Program Officer before applying.

Creating, Knowing and Sharing: The Arts and Cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples: Short-Term Projects

Description

Grants provide support for any combination of eligible Creating, Knowing and Sharing activities for projects lasting up to 12 months.

Indigenous 360

Deadline

$1,000, $5,000, and $15,000

Description

The Indigenous 360 program supports artistic and cultural activities by Indigenous applicants, inlcuding art groups and art organizations.

Eligibility Criteria:

Professional Indigenous artists, cultural workers, and Knowledge Keepers based in Manitoba. Also open to Indigenous-led organizations.

Mentor-Apprentice Program

Up to $21,000

Description

MAP is a 3-year program for language learners who want to actively pass on the language to others, often through a career as a language educator. Participants complete 300 hours of immersion learning per year.

Eligibility Criteria:

B.C. First Nations individuals ages 16 - 50. Must live in BC and intend to learn one of 36 First Nations languages in B.C.

Description

Project funding for First Nations, Inuit and Métis individuals, groups and organizations for activities of more than 1 year and up to 3 years in length

Indigenous Arts Individual Project Funding

up to $18,000

Description

This funding provides up to $15,000 to support the development of an individual Indigenous artist, arts administrators, or an ensemble of artists in Alberta by providing funding for a specific cultural or artistic project.

Mentor-Apprentice Program: Connections

Description

MAP Connections (MAPC) is for language learners who want a flexible pace and minimal reporting requirements. Participants complete 100 hours of language immersion with a fluent speaker.

Eligibility Criteria:

B.C. First Nations individuals ages 16+. Must live in BC and intend to learn one of 36 First Nations languages in B.C.

Multi-year funding for not-for-profit and for-profit Indigenous organizations that explore innovative strategies for Indigenous creative and cultural expression

Indigenous publishers, arts service organizations, or not-for-profits that meet specific requirements (see grant website).

Individual Artists Program

Deadline

May 3, 2026

Amount

up to $20,000

Description

Supports artists in increasing their skills and knowledge, gaining the recognition, and developing a presentation of their artistic journey/history for their community.

Eligibility Criteria:

Must be 19+, and living in BC. First Nations artists starting creative projects on or after the application deadline.
