About Us

training-vector.png

We help Indigenous students reach educational and personal goals, and help create a safe and welcoming environment to express and be themselves.

By providing free tutoring and mentoring remotely to Indigenous students both on and off reserve, we hope to close the gap in education and help increase Indigenous representation across the workforce.

We tailor tutoring and mentoring to the needs of each student, whether they need support in their education or want to reach personal goals.

Meet our Leadership Team

A note on leadership titles

These titles were chosen at the suggestion of Elder Rod Peters, one of ITMP’s Cultural Advisors. Instead of using corporate titles like “President” or “Executive Officer”, ITMP’s titles are inspired by a Chief and Council model. Each Chief or Vice-Chief has a small council of volunteers who make up the members of their team, and the Vice-Chiefs also act as the Chief’s council when making decisions about the direction of the program.

This blend of Western and Indigenous terminology represents our program’s blend of Indigenous and non-Indigneous volunteers, and our desire to work together in harmony.

We respectfully acknowledge the Coast Salish, kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), səl̓ilwətaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsleil-Waututh), Skwxwú7mesh-ulh Temíx̱w (Squamish), S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō), Qayqayt, šxʷməθkʷəy̓əmaɁɬ təməxʷ (Musqueam), and Stz'uminus peoples on whose traditional, ancestral and unceded territories we live, learn, and work.
